Tasmania's Small Business Strategy

Small businesses are central to Tasmania’s economy. They make up more than 97 per cent of all businesses and play an important role in local communities and regional areas.

Over the past four years, the Tasmanian Government has supported small businesses through the Small Business Growth Strategy 2026 and the Small Business Growth Strategy Implementation Plan.

With the conclusion of the Small Business Growth Strategy 2026 approaching, the Tasmanian Government is developing a new Strategy, outlining actions needed to support Tasmania’s small business sector over the next 10 years.

This draft Strategy, Tasmania’s Small Business Strategy 2036, is currently open for consultation.
