Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program
The Tasmanian Government’s 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy outlines our commitment to promote the uptake of electric vehicles and support a state-wide charging network to support Tasmania’s goal of shifting to a low emission economy.
The Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program supports small to medium tourism businesses to install destination chargers for visitors staying overnight.
Funding
- The program is being delivered in two rounds, with total grant funding of $125,000 available for Round 1.
- Grants of up to $2,500 per charger are available, for a maximum of four chargers per business.
Key dates
Round 1 of the Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program is now open, and closes on 31 August 2026.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a grant your business must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Provide paid overnight accommodation to visitors on a commercial basis.
- Be currently operating and physically located in Tasmania with a valid ABN for 12 months prior to the date of your application.
- Be a small to medium business – i.e. your business has no more than 199 full-time equivalent employees.
- Installation of chargers must not have been commenced, contracted or completed prior to 10 August 2026; and be operational by 15 June 2027.
