Driving the Nation Program
This program supports projects that accelerate the adoption of zero‑emission vehicles (ZEVs) across Australia.
Delivered by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, it funds development, demonstration and deployment initiatives that address barriers to ZEV uptake, improve the integration of battery‑electric vehicles (BEVs) with the electricity grid and showcase new technologies, business models and use cases.
Projects must align with one or more of the program’s focus areas: heavy BEVs, heavy‑vehicle charging solutions, vehicle‑to‑grid (V2G) technologies and broader innovation in ZEV systems.
Funding
From $500,000 to $15 million, with applicants generally required to match contributions on a 1:1 basis.
Key dates
Ongoing basis until funds are fully allocated. In addition, targeted funding rounds may be run depending on priorities.
