Battery Breakthrough Initiative
The initiative aims to strengthen Australia’s position in the global clean‑energy supply chain.
It supports projects that enhance domestic capability across key parts of the battery value chain, including active materials production, battery cell manufacturing and battery pack assembly, with funding provided through capital grants, production incentives or other payments.
Delivered by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency as part of the Future Made in Australia agenda and central to the National Battery Strategy, it seeks to boost supply‑chain resilience, drive innovation and advance emissions‑reduction efforts by commercialising new battery technologies and scaling local manufacturing.
