Employer of Choice
The Tasmanian Employer of Choice program aims to assist employers to attract and retain skilled workers to support the growth of their business.
Employers that care about their people and build well-managed, inspiring workplaces gain a positive reputation among their staff. These organisations have an edge in the competition for skilled labour and a better chance to achieve high performance because talented people want a great place to work. Satisfied staff, whose ideas are valued, are more productive and provide better services, helping to win new customers.
The annual Tasmanian Employer of Choice Awards recognise businesses, large and small, that demonstrate contemporary workplace practices and outstanding support for their staff, including opportunities for employees to build an effective work-life balance. Entries for the 2017 Employer of Choice Awards are now closed. The winner will be announced at an awards event to be held at the Skills and Workforce Development Conference on Monday 29 May 2017. All entrants will be invited to attend.
There are many ways an employer can create a great place to work and be formally recognised as an Employer of Choice. For more information see
