Tourism Industry Market Support Program

The Tourism Industry Market Support Program is part of the COVID-19 Small Business Sustainability and Recovery Assistance Package, designed to assist small businesses across a number of sectors to recover, re-open, build capacity and innovate whilst continuing to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tasmanian Government has allocated $750,000 of the COVID-19 Small Business Sustainability and Recovery Assistance Package to the Tourism Industry Market Support Program which is designed to support tourism operators to re-engage with the interstate visitor market as Tasmania’s borders re-open. The Tourism Industry Market Support Program will offer grants to commercial tourism businesses that service interstate visitors to Tasmania and encourage visitors to travel into regional areas.

The grant program opened for applications on 12 noon on 12th August 2020 and will close 30th October 2020 or until funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first.

This program has a maximum of $750 000 in funding.

Assessment will occur on a first submitted, first assessed basis, until the program close date of 30th October 2020 or funding is exhausted whichever occurs first.

A panel comprised of State Growth and Tourism Tasmania will assess applications.

The Program will offer two types of grants:

Grant 1 up to $1 000 available as one off marketing support grants.
Grant 2 up to $2 500 available on a dollar for dollar matched basis as one off marketing support grants.

Businesses who can satisfy the grant criteria of Grant 1 and Grant 2 may choose to apply for both grants.
