Information for Businesses affected by the Southern Tasmanian Extreme Weather Event of 10th and 11th of May 2018

On 10th and 11th of May 2018 an extreme weather event commenced in Tasmania, with damaging south to south-easterly winds and heavy rain about the eastern, central and southern districts. The extreme weather caused considerable damage across Southern Tasmania. There were wide reports of extensive damage to a number of businesses in the Hobart CBD, Kingston town centre, Huonville, New Norfolk and affected suburbs.

Grants for small businesses in need

This grant provides up to $10,000 for small businesses to meet short to medium-term recovery needs. Grants may be used to assist with clean-up and repair of premises and the repair or replacement of equipment.
